Two youths died on the spot and two others were seriously injured after a speeding bike collided with a trailer on the Ghola-Kalyani Expressway. The accident took place near the Ghola area when the bike, coming from the Khardaha side, crashed into the trailer. All three riders were thrown off the bike due to the impact.
The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Aryan Mandal and Rohan Mandal, both residents of the Musalman Para area in Panihati. The two injured were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The trailer involved in the collision has been detained for investigation.
Following the incident, tension spread in the area. Police from Ghola station reached the spot, brought the situation under control, and cleared the road. A case has been registered, and further inquiry is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crash.
